Subject: IDEAL JOB OPPORTUNITY - MEDICAL FIELD

To whom it may concern:

I am writing to you regarding a job opportunity I have in my office.

This position is ideal for a postbaccaluareate premedical student taking a
glide year (or two) while applying to medical school OR a premedical student
who is taking a year off prior to medical school. However, this position is
unavailable to students who are currently in the application cycle for
matriculation into medical school in Fall 2010.

I am a pain management interventional anesthesiologist with a very busy
practice in Brooklyn Heights, NY. I employ four doctor's assistants, and
have been doing so for the past six years.
The four assistants are responsible for the day-to-day functions of the
office. This includes speaking to the patients, taking histories, assisting
in minor surgeries, following-up with patients, dealing with insurance
companies....obviously there is a great deal of patient contact. All of the
past doctor's assistants have gone on to matriculate into medical school.

This is an ideal opportunity. If anyone is interested in the position, they
should send their resume/CV (in the body of an email) and a cover letter to
the following email: [log in to unmask] The letter should
express the student's interest and why he/she feels they are the most
appropriate candidate for this position.

The job posting is attached to this email and is below in the body of the
email.

Please advise students to read the description and follow the directions on
how to apply.

If YOU have any questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Grant S. Jones.

Thank you very much.

Respectfully,

Mathew Lefkowitz, MD

Doctor's Assistant (March 2010)
This Brooklyn Heights medical practice is seeking a mature, reliable,
respectful, personable team player for a doctor's assistant position in a
busy private-practice office.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who would like to attend medical
school.

Job Description:
In this full-time job, you will work intimately with the doctor and
patients-conducting interviews and assisting the doctor in minor surgeries.
The assistant will also function as a liaison among the doctor, patients,

initial evaluation reports and various letters to physicians on behalf of
the doctor, as well as learn how to verify insurance and request
authorization from insurance companies. You will be joining a team of three
assistants.
We provide health insurance.
All previous assistants have matriculated into medical school. This is not
a typical medical assistant position.

Ideal Candidate:
You must possess the ability to relate well with patients and have a strong
medical background. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who will be
applying to medical school (possibly during a glide year or two). A
