Hey Pre-dents,
Thank you all for staying with us in the 2015-2016 year in Pre-Dental Society of Hunter College. As the academic year is coming to an end, most of our current PDS E-Board members will graduate and apply to dental schools. Good luck to them and many other dental applicants who are applying to the upcoming 2017 application cycle!
Here are the upcoming election timeline and details concerning your platform speech submissions.
Wednesday, April 20, 2016: Last PDS Monthly meeting for this academic year

Wednesday, April 27, 2016: Last day to send platform speeches (by 10pm).
Thursday, April 28, 2016: Platform speeches will be available on our website for viewing and elections open at 10pm via "Doodle"
Monday, May 2, 2016: Elections close at 10pm.
Wednesday, May 4, 2016: New Pre-dental Society (PDS) E-board members will be announced.
Friday, May 6, 2016: Required E-board meeting for the new and former E-boards.
Thursday, May 12/ Friday, May 13, 2016: Banquet
**Please read the constitution(attached to the email at the very bottom) and/or below to apply for any of the E-Board positions**
Those who are interested in running, 2016-2017 E-Board positions will begin in the Fall Semester of 2016 and end in the Spring Semester of 2017. Any matriculated Hunter College Student may run (Undergraduates & Post-Baccs). It is required for ALL potential E-board members to be full-time students (12+ credits), have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 and if you are a Freshman, you may run for any position other than president or vice-president for your sophomore year.
Please remember that all officers must be active members. The CUNY Hunter PDS does not retain the right to inquire about a members' GPA, however, this will be enforced confidentially in conjunction with the Pre-Health Advisory Board and Hunter College upon notification of the members desire to run for office.
Your platform speech should include:
-Include a recent photo of yourself
-Full name
-Year in College
-Major
-What made you choose dentistry
-Dental experiences
-Strengths and weaknesses
-Hobbies
-How did you learn about the PDS
-How did you benefit thus far from being apart of the PDS
-Position you are running for on the PDS
-What can you bring to the PDS as an E-board member
-Any unique ideas for the PDS and goals that you plan to accomplish as an E-board member.
-Anything else that you feel we should know about you
-A quote, book, movie or object that describes you

Lastly, we are only counting votes from active PDS members and we will be checking the attendance sheets. If you have any specific questions, please email us or ask us in the April monthly meeting on April 20th.
