The Art of Science Speaker Series

Description:

Interested in hearing about how art can inform scientific practice in a professional setting? Come to this event to hear Hunter Alumna Rachel Richards, a New York City based technical illustrator, animator, and data visualization artist with a background in engineering and coding speak about her experience at the intersection of art and science. Her work has touched upon the fields of forensic science, cyber security and medical data storage. She currently works as a freelance science communicator, using a variety of mediums (data graphics, animations, illustrations) to translate complex scientific ideas into a format that is more easily understood. She is passionate about art and science and advocates for multidisciplinary exchange in both academia and industry.
