Position Description: We are seeking clinical interns to assist with wound care rounds at a nursing home on the Upper East Side, near 103 Street 6 train station (20-minute subway ride from Hunter College). Interns will serve as medical scribes as they shadow a wound care physician. Interns will record wound dimensions, description, and treatments to aid the clinical staff. Interns also will be exposed to a wide variety of wounds afflicting patients and will learn about wound etiologies and treatments including wound stages, locations, necessary approaches, and dressings. This is an excellent opportunity for pre-health students to learn about bedside manner by working directly with patients and medical staff in a clinical setting. A six-month commitment is required after a personal letter of recommendation letter will be written. We are looking for bright, motivated, and independent individuals with interest in medicine. No prior clinical experience is required, and training will be provided.

Applicant Areas of Experience/Interest:
Competitive applicants will have a keen interest in medicine and clinical care.

Prerequisites of Applicants:
- Bright, motivated, mature, professional, and independent

- Strong attention to detail, organized, and efficient

Time Commitment:
Clinical interns must
- Attend weekly wound care rounds on Thursdays, from 6:50AM-3:00PM
- Commit for at least six months

Benefit: This is an opportunity to gain experience working on a critical issue in healthcare and benefit from working with clinical team members of diverse, interdisciplinary backgrounds. Clinical interns have many opportunities to be trained and mentored by more senior clinical staff.
