We are looking for someone (preferably an upcoming sophomore or junior) who is interested in getting their feet wet in a lab environment and who can work a flexible schedule with afternoons being preferable.

Job Description
The Laboratory Helper will be an integral part of the laboratory by performing general laboratory maintenance including shelving glassware, autoclaving instruments, and stocking shelves.  Responsibilities include organizing supplies for general laboratory use, preparing routine chemical solutions such as 70% ethanol, picking-up reagents and supplies from the receiving department and store room, unpacking deliveries and enter all received items in receiving log-book, delivering item to the person who ordered it, keeping the dry ice chest filled with dry ice, and taking packages to the mail room or FedEx drop off.

This is a part time position, 20 hours/week.

High school diploma or equivalent required; educational emphasis in biological sciences preferred. Previous experience in a laboratory environment is desired. Must be detail-oriented, able to follow instructions and carry out routine tasks, have the ability to interact well with other laboratory members and be enthusiastic and interested in being a vital supportive team member necessary.
