The Manhattan VA Medical Center/NYU School of Medicine Program for Research on the Outcomes of VA Education (PROVE) research team is currently recruiting for our fall internship program. The Intern will assist with various research studies within the PROVE Intern Team (PROVE-IT), depending on his/her interests. These responsibilities may include recruiting, enrolling and consenting focus group participants; assisting in note-taking, facilitation and transcript coding of focus groups; conducting retrospective medical record chart reviews; and/or performing literature reviews and data entry. The Intern will also participate in a monthly journal club and attend faculty research seminars. Opportunities to attend research team meetings, draft abstracts and shadow a clinician may also be available upon request.

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or its equivalent, have completed at least two years of undergraduate education, and currently be enrolled in, or have a recent degree, from an undergraduate program relevant to research (e.g., public health, psychology, or other health-related disciple). Strong communication and interpersonal skills, taking initiative and self-motivating, detail oriented, and independent are imperative characteristics.

Applicants should send a PDF of their cover letter and resume to Nicole Skursky at [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]> and include "Research Assistant" in the subject line. In their cover letter, candidates are asked to explain what s/he is looking for in an internship, their future career goals, and how past experiences make him/her a good candidate for our program. A schedule of applicants' availability (days/times) should also be submitted.

Attached you will find additional information regarding the posting and program.
