Hey Everyone,

** Reminder**

Our first summer meeting will be Wednesday, June 15th from 1:30pm to 3:00pm in 1203E

- The meeting is a hybrid orientation/info-session for community service opportunities for the month of June-July

It is recommended that you register with us ASAP as the background check can take up to a week to be cleared. Use this link to register then shoot us an email after you register so that we can add you to our mailing list. Please register by clicking on me!<https://volunteerconnection.redcross.org/?nd=intake&entry_point_id=1260&unit_id=236>

Most of our events are open only to those who have registered with us, so please register if you want your hours!

To control the demand for our events, all of our events will be available to those at the meeting and will then be sent by email to everyone after the meeting

______________

The American Red Cross Club of Hunter College will be active for the summer. This will be a good time to rack up those hours! I'm sending this email with a survey to let us know when you (the members) will be available to volunteer and which borough will be more accessible. It will give us an idea when and where to schedule events so that most of you will be able to attend. The survey will take no more than 5 minutes of your time, so please take the time to answer it especially if you are interested in volunteering with us this summer.

Survey link: http://goo.gl/forms/XYOxh3TAedvVyMwc2

The survey touches on events such as Soup Kitchens, Home Fire Preparedness Campaign, The Pillowcase Project, and On-Campus Events. I gave a brief summary of each event, more details will be covered in our June Meeting.

____________

We have inactivated 63 of the our 186 members for one of the following reasons:

- you have not attended a meeting or participated in an event for the Spring 2016 semester or

- you have not attended a meeting or participated in an event since the Fall 2015 semester or

- you frequently registered and cancelled on events

- you only attended one meeting with no follow up

This means we have increased the number of active members from 66% to 100%!!!

Inactivating members allows us to know how many events to look for and allows us to keep track of everyone's activity.

To reactivate yourself you must attend one of the summer meetings and participate in at least 2 events before the fall semester begins.

___________________________________________

Our first summer meeting will be Wednesday, June 15th from 1:30pm to 3:00pm in 1203E

The team will review the constitution for the upcoming year and give details about vacancies in the club. The team will discuss all events they are leading between now and the July meeting.

You must satisfy the following requirements to be eligible for one of the vacant positions (Secretary/Treasurer):

- Have accumulated at least 30 hours via volunteer connections and attended at least 2 meetings

- you must satisfy Hunter's policy for being an officer; min. 2.0 gpa and enrolled for 6 credits for both fall and spring ( we're looking for a minimum of 3.0 and 12 credits min)

1) Why is it important to volunteer in your community?

2) What attributes about yourself do you feel will help strengthen the club as Secretary/Treasurer?

to the best of your ability, answer these questions and send them to us by Friday, June 17th; Ryan and Rubaya will conduct interviews and narrow down the pool to 2 candidates, A poll will be sent to everyone on June 27th and be open until June 30th. The New board will be announced shortly after

We're looking forward to working with you all this summer!

Best,

Ryan A. Sankar
