The American Nurse is a documentary that explores some of the biggest issues we face today-aging, war, poverty, prisons-by focusing on the lives and work of five nurses. Public opinion polls find that nursing is one of the most trusted of all professions, but the portrayal of nurses in the popular media is far from accurate. This film challenges us to reimagine what it means to be a nurse in 21st-century America, and its powerful insights into the lives of real nurses and their patients will help change the public conversation about nursing and health care.
