Dear Students:

We are seeking applicants for our postbac program, the Opportunities in Genomics Research (OGR) - Extensive Study program at The McDonnell Genome Institute at Washington University in St. Louis. OGR is an NHGRI funded post-baccalaureate program (genome.wustl.edu), committed to increasing the number of underrepresented students who pursue PhD's in genomics and related fields. Our postbac includes research and enrichment activities such as GRE and graduate school preparation.

We offer a competitive salary for students and the cost of living in St. Louis is quite low. Program details and the application can be found at: genome.wustl.edu/outreach. Areas of research that our students have pursued as a part of OGR include: genomics, bioinformatics, cancer biology, microbiology, developmental biology, cell biology and physiology. Candidates can interview with several faculty via phone or Skype prior to choosing a mentor. We're also happy to connect students to program alumni who are currently matriculating in our PhD programs.

Let us know what questions we can answer for you.

Regards,
Cherilynn R. Shadding, Ph.D.

Program Director
