The Division of Geriatrics & Gerontology at Weill Cornell Medical College
has a strong history in clinical and community-based geriatrics research as
well as in mentoring students and post-graduate staff. We are currently
recruiting for a paid full-time research assistant position.
Job Description:
The research assistant will be assisting division faculty with
administrative and research activities for several grant supported studies
on elder abuse and community-dwelling older adults who self-neglect. The
assistant will have a range of responsibilities, including:
* preparing and coordinating paperwork necessary to initiate a study
* assisting with subject recruitment and follow-ups
* scheduling and running focus groups
* developing and preparing data collection sheets according to
protocol requirements
* entering data and assisting with analysis
* coordinating research team and organizing meetings and communication
* preparing abstracts and manuscripts
* assisting in grant-writing activities
* performing other job related functions as necessary
* assisting Division's administrative staff (clerical work) when
research responsibilities allow
This job will provide an ideal opportunity to see academic medicine up close
and to learn.
Requirements:
1) Must be bilingual (English & Spanish)
2) Excellent interpersonal communication skills and sensitivity to the
needs of older adults.
3) Excellent organizational skills.
4) Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, EndNote
5) Self-motivated
6) Must be willing to work flexible hours, depending on study demands
7) SAS programming experience and nVivo software experience a plus
