POSITION TITLE:
Chinese Interpreter - Asian Health Institute

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Asian Health Institute, the Chinese Interpreter will provides interpreting services for patients/families/companions and staff,  respond in a timely fashion to interpreting requests, respond to and accommodates the needs of specific departments and programs in provision of services, and ensures patients and families have contact information for the Asian Health Institute and understands their rights to free services, and prepares press releases in Chinese and to organize press conferences to promote the Asian Health Institute.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION
*         Bachelor's Degree preferred
*         Equivalent experience will be considered in place of Bachelor's Degree
WORK EXPERIENCE
*         Previous medical interpretation experience preferred
*         Recent graduates welcome
SKILLS
*         Excellent verbal and written skills in both English and Chinese. Must be able to type in Chinese.
*         Must be proficient in speaking English, Mandarin and Cantonese
*         Knowledge of medical terminology, publishing experience with emphasis on editing, proofreading, manuscript preparation, editorial and literary procedures preferred
